Gerald Veasley has been voted "Best Electric Bassist" by Jazziz Magazine and named in both Downbeat Magazine's Critics' and Readers' Polls. Fans and fellow musicians appreciate Gerald for his virtuosity and soulful approach to music making. He had long and fruitful associations with Grover Washington, Jr. and Joe Zawinul, not only touring and recording with these two masters, but also contributing songs to their repertoire.
Gerald has worked with important jazz artists such as Pat Martino, Special EFX, Pieces Of A Dream and the Jaco Pastorius Big Band. He has also formed all-star collaborations featuring leading contemporary jazz artists including Kirk Whalum, Najee, Rick Braun, Chuck Loeb, Kim Waters, Maysa and Bobby Lyle. Gerald's recording projects have featured John Legend, Dianne Reeves, Philip Bailey and Jaguar Wright.
Though Gerald is known as a contemporary jazz musician, the versatile bassist has never been content working in one genre. He has worked with R&B legend Gerald Levert, jazz diva Nnenna Freelon, the soulful Teddy Pendergrass, gospel icons The Dixie Hummingbirds, straight ahead piano giant McCoy Tyner and many other diverse artists.
His Bass Bootcamp, an annual retreat featuring instructional seminars and workshops, brings together bass players of all levels and from around the world to learn and be inspired by Gerald and his staff.
Gerald Veasley has used MusicCord-PRO since 2009. When asked why does he use MusicCord-PRO, Gerald responds "It allows me to get closer to the pure sound of my instrument. I use it live with amps and in the studio with microphone pre-amps and DI's." Gerald has also commented that he especially appreciates the improved tone in the mids.
Listen to Gerald's latest album "Electric Mingus Project" and you immediately appreciate how his playing encompasses the best attributes of the modern bass sound - expanded frequency range extending well into the midrange, dynamic punch yet precision articulation, and clear, rich, warm tone.
Bass frequencies require more power to amplify than midrange and high frequencies. MusicCord-PRO is perfectly suited for high-current applications like bass amplifiers. By getting more current to the component power supply faster, bass amp performance is enhanced with more punch and control, transient speed, and tonal clarity.
MusicCord-PRO unleashes your sound! It affords a signifcant expansion of your component's overall performance envelope. For the first time, you'll hear your component's full performance potential. The magnitude of improvement often rivals what you would expect when purchasing a new component, but at a fraction of the cost!
With MusicCord-PRO, your amplifier will be capable of playing louder yet effortless. You'll experience enhanced clarity with fuller, fatter tone. And the bass is extended and tight! Your component will more faithfully communicate the vitality and emotion of the music. In fact, musicians have commented that with MusicCord-PRO connected to their amp, they don't have to work so hard to express themselves because macro and micro dynamics are enhanced.
What's the difference between MusicCord and MusicCord-PRO, you ask? MusicCord-PRO has more current carrying conductors so it can deliver more current faster! MusicCord-PRO's performance advantage is most noticeable when used with power-hungry amplifiers, full-range powered monitors, powered subwoofers and tube components.
